As a result, result

CARD was legally registered by the ministry of Justice and Humanitarian Affairs in 2011 making it a legal entity allowed to operate in the Republic of South Sudan. CARD is one of the nation’s leading national health and relief organizations, committed to improve access to health and livelihood for the most vulnerable members of our communities. Founded in 2011 to provide much needed health services and relief to survivors of the civil war, CARD quickly became a tested and trusted vehicle for the compassion and generosity thousands.

CARD works in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Education, Agriculture, Livestock and various Clusters such as the Food Security and Livelihoods, NFI/Shelter, Protection, WASH, Education and Health. CARD works closely with relevant line ministries and counterpart agencies and clusters via information sharing and frequent consultations and guidance support as needed. These different bodies are involved in information sharing and technical planning stages in any of our projects.

Community Empowerment and Commitment

We believe that no one can serve a community meaningfully without their involvement. We also believe that communities are inherently resilient, even in the midst of conflicts and disaster and, as such, require some support to enable them take charge of their lives. As a result, our interventions are not ‘for communities’ but ‘with the communities’, to support them regain custody of their health and wellbeing. We involve the communities we serve very early in the life of project cycle, and all the way to its conclusion to ensure that all interventions leave a lasting impact.
